Who We Are

We’re Clint and Ashley — high school sweethearts, parents of four amazing kids, and the team behind the Buddy-a-Thon Fundraiser.

Our journey originally began in the Haunted Attraction industry, where we operated a haunted house in Eagle Mountain and fell in love with creating fun, immersive, and memorable experiences for families and our community. After a serious car accident, we had to put much of life and business on hold for a season. As we began to get things going again, we were introduced to The Bear Factory and quickly fell in love with their plush products and wanted to share this experience with families here in Utah.

During an event at the Mountain America Expo Center, an educator asked if we had ever considered incorporating the plush experience into a school fundraiser. That simple question sparked an idea that would eventually grow into the Buddy-a-Thon Fundraiser.

We began working with local schools in and around our community and quickly realized that many were searching for fundraising programs that were not only effective, but also fun, meaningful, and engaging for students and families. Educators and school leaders work incredibly hard to support their students, staff, and their educational programs, often while balancing limited resources and growing needs. As we continued to develop and refine our program, we wanted to create something that would bring communities together, reignite excitement around fundraising, and create an experience that felt fun, rewarding, and meaningful for everyone involved.

That’s why we created the Buddy-a-Thon Fundraiser.

We believe fundraising should be more than simply asking for donations — it should be an experience students never forget.

We wanted to combine hands-on excitement with a meaningful fundraiser — giving students the opportunity to earn their very own eco-friendly plush Buddy, outfits, and prizes, all while helping support their school.

Beyond raising funds, our goal is to create an experience students genuinely look forward to. Many of our plush Buddies are made from recycled plastic bottles, helping promote environmental responsibility while creating paw-sitive moments, lasting memories, and smiles throughout the fundraiser.

From our high-energy kickoff assembly and easy-to-use online fundraising platform to our unforgettable on-campus Stuffing Party celebration, we strive to make fundraising simple for schools, exciting for students, and rewarding for the entire community — one Buddy at a time.

Frequently Asked Questions

General

What is the Buddy-a-Thon?

The Buddy-a-Thon is a fun, donation-based school fundraiser where students earn exciting prizes through their participation—culminating in a hands-on stuffed animal experience where they build their own plush buddy at the end.

How does the fundraiser work?

All students register with the help of a parent or guardian and receive their own fundraising link. Every student earns their first prizes just for registering. Their link is shared with friends and family anywhere in the world and donations are made to the school in the students name. As they reach different donation levels, they earn prizes. At the end of the fundraiser, qualifying students participate in a Stuffing Party experience where they get to build their buddy..

What makes this different from other fundraisers?

Student are not asked to handle products, money, or go door knocking through their surrounding communities. Instead, the Buddy-a-Thon is donation based using a text message and email system to request donations for the school, or organization, and focusing on the experiences. This helps Donors enjoy knowing that their contribution goes to both the schools needs and their student's prizes. Students are motivated by earning a personalized stuffed animal they create themselves—making it more exciting and memorable. The Buddy-a-Thon helps reach beyond the school's immediate community to those further away.

How long does the fundraiser last?

Most Buddy-a-Thons run for 2 weeks with the option of extending it a 3rd week, keeping energy high and participation strong.
